After 45 years serving in Colombia, it was strange for Mark and Joyce Cain to think that they would now settle down in America. But they weren’t really settling down, at least not yet.
“The Bible teachers have been going through the Creation to Christ teaching with the students that are in the local school, and after the gospel presentation, 61 elementary students gave a profession of faith in Jesus. Some of these kids are from our village, but many are from other villages where the gospel has not been welcome. Praise the Lord!” Pray that this will open the door to other villages. Pray for missionaries to go to these other villages. Pray for these elementary students to have opportunities to grow in the Word and in their walk with the Lord.
Please pray that we would remain diligent in our language learning, that the gap between our understanding and our speaking would become smaller. Pray for boldness and opportunities to use the Inuktitut we know and for God’s continued grace in abundance during this learning process.
Pray for Matt and Joan as they “work through the paperwork and logistics of going.” And pray for their co-workers in Canada as the Gunthers “will be leaving a gap here while we are away.”
Praise God for the power of the gospel, which is spreading like wildfire in this region of Latin America. Pray that He would sustain the “J” missionaries. Pray for the new believers to grow in the Word.
